Tokyo
The raised relief holds the Imperial Palace grounds inside their ring of moats, with the Kitanomaru garden closing the ring to the north and the streets of Marunouchi pressed against its eastern edge. Around it, the printed map spreads the city in every direction, laced with rivers and canals.
The ground rises about 86 meters across the map, from the low districts to the east onto the higher ground to the west, stepped into twelve layers of color. Every contour, street and moat comes from open map data, simplified so the city reads from across a room. The relief is printed on our own printer and mounted on a card with the city's name and coordinates, then framed in oak or black, ready to hang.
Medium: an A4 print with a 13 cm relief, 32 × 42 cm in its frame. Large: an A3 print with a 20 cm relief, 42 × 52 cm in its frame.
