Špindlerův Mlýn
The raised relief holds Špindlerův Mlýn in the valley where the young Elbe gathers the streams coming down from the Giant Mountains, with the road up the valley reaching the middle of town. Ridges rise on every side, and the printed map runs down the valley to the reservoir below town and up toward the high ground of the Krkonoše.
This map climbs about 660 meters, from the valley floor to the tops of the ridges, stepped into twelve layers of color. Every contour, road and stream comes from open map data, simplified so the mountains read from across a room. We print the relief on our own printer, mount it on a card with the town's name and coordinates, and frame it in oak or black, ready to hang.
Medium: an A4 print with a 13 cm relief, 32 × 42 cm in its frame. Large: an A3 print with a 20 cm relief, 42 × 52 cm in its frame.
