New York
The raised relief holds the tip of Manhattan: the island narrowing to its southern point between the Hudson and the East River, with the Brooklyn Bridge striking out across the water. Around it, the printed map carries the avenues north through the island and Brooklyn's waterfront to the southeast.
There is little terrain to speak of here. The ground rises about 40 meters across the map, which the relief keeps as five low layers, so the rivers and the street lines carry the piece. Every road and shoreline comes from open map data, simplified so the island reads from across a room. The relief is printed on our own printer and mounted on a card with the city's name and coordinates, then framed in oak or black, ready to hang.
Medium: an A4 print with a 13 cm relief, 32 × 42 cm in its frame. Large: an A3 print with a 20 cm relief, 42 × 52 cm in its frame.
